If you know anything about The Pantiles, you’ll know there’s plenty to see and do even on the quietest days of the year. Naturally however, it’s the weekends when the Georgian Parade surrounding the Old Fishmarket really comes to life, with an influx of diners heading to the heart of Tunbridge Wells to satisfy their cravings and pick up a present or two.
Speaking of which, if you read our blog a few months ago covering why the Christmas Markets were a great opportunity to combine a spot of shopping with a trip to our Oyster & Champagne bar, you’ll be delighted to know the stalls are back to provide you with just that! Temporarily setting up shop every fortnight, it gives you the chance to get the best of both worlds by heading up to Mount Ephraim for a Saturday or Sunday session when the local traders are taking a weekend off.
A prime example of that is this very weekend, as whilst the markets might be on pause, there’s plenty of gripping action to be enjoyed at the Seafood Kitchen & Bar with another round of Six Nations Rugby! When those boys in white take a quick break though, you’ll know where to head to for a terrific atmosphere, quality local wares, and cracking seafood from yours truly...
You know we like to make things as easy as possible for you here at Sankey’s, so we thought we’d pop below those all-important dates for your diary (for the next few months) if you’re keen to follow up a shopping trip with a mouth-watering meal at the Old Fishmarket:
