Sankey's Old Fishmarket Restaurant in Tunbridge Wells.

Situated in the Old Fishmarket building in the heart of the Pantiles, Sankey's exclusive Champagne & Seafood bar is the jewel in the town's crown. Serving a wide range of Champagne & sparkling wines from around the world, it's a fabulous place to relax and enjoy the very best British fish & shellfish.

We specialise in Oysters and Shellfish. A range of Oysters never before seen in the town from Carlingford, Colchester, Lindisfarn and The Dutchy of Cornwall to name a few. Fresh crabs & lobsters from Cornwall arrive live and direct from Cadgwith cove and are dressed by our chefs on site daily.

The menu comprises of Oysters, Starters & Mains as any contemporary menu does, but also allows you to build your own platters.

These communal tables are tall with seating for pairs, fours & sixes sitting opposite each other.

Choose to sit outside on our patio or inside on our communal central tables or at our chef's counter.

Central Tables: These are tall tables with seating for pairs sitting opposite each other.
Chefs Counter: The hottest seats in town overlooking our fabulous chefs.
Live at the Pantiles: Jazz is back (May - Sept), with our own live musicians & no entry fee.

Please note that the largest table we can accommodate is for 6, for larger groups please book multiple tables, but be minded these will be treated separately.

Jazz on The Pantiles is back, with a new name but the same excellent atmosphere and of course entry is FREE at Sankey's.

You can book a table for drinks, a snack or a fully blown seafood extravaganza.

Terms & Conditions

Unfortunately due to an increased trend for "No Shows" we have had to implement the following policy. With only 20 seats in our restaurant, no shows have a strong impact.

A credit or debit card is needed to confirm your booking. Your card will not be charged for deposit or for your meal. Your card details are not held by Brittany Inns Ltd T/AS Sankey's.

If you fail to turn up to your booking, do not order a complete meal, or cancel within 8 hours you will be charged a no show fee of £25 per person. Should we fill your table if you cancel within 8 hours we will rescind this policy.

Bad Manners Policy: It's sad that we even have to have a policy like this, but we take the well-being of our staff seriously. Under this policy, Sankey's reserves the right to ask people to leave if it is deemed our staff are under threat or are being abused. Upon being asked to leave your card will be charged with £50 per head or for your bill, whichever is greater.
